September 19th 2009 Congratulations to Ken S for Double Stack / Overall winner! Single Stack Class - I have an incomplete score for Steve H's score on stage 3. As soon as I can clarify what the score is we will complete the SS Class. Rod D is holding the top spot at this point. Connie B Winner of Ladies Not enough Seniors / Open Classes to declare a winner Wow what a great match for our final shoot of the year!! This by far was the most intense with 6 full stages with several stages using all 3 guns in the scenario. For those new shooters to our as well as the veterans, we hope you enjoyed the whole season and especially liked the final match of the year. Dave and the boys have worked very hard in bringing you the intensity and elaborate stages. Thanks to Ken S for adding a great target to the collection as well. A huge thanks for both Kurt R for sponsoring us throughout the year and for buying lunch for everyone at the match!!! Support Centennial Arms in Marine City!! Also a new Sponsor joined us with two huge gift certificates for Cavalry Arms! Thanks Russell and team! Ken Check back over the next couple of months for some final thoughts and information for 2009. Thanks again for a Safe and great year from the whole Michigan 3 Gun Combat team!
July 11th 2009 - UPDATED July 21st 2009 Congratulations to Ken S for DS and Overall Winner! Burnie R for SS Winner Connie for Ladies Winner Well done! We had a nice turn out of 32 shooters and welcome to the new shooters that tried out their first BWSA 3 Gun Combat Match. I had a great time with the new shooters on my squad. We do have to cancel the August match due to several RO's out of town. We are trying to set up a 2 Gun - Pistol caliber carbine / pistol match for August 22nd. We will confirm in the next week. I must print a correction to our scores. I was unable to determine which Rod had shot on which squad as niether had written down the full last name on any of the score sheets. I was contacted by Rod to take a look as his scores didn't look right. After doing some research and confirming who he shot with he was correct. I apologies to both of the Rods as well as to Burnie R for not giving him the top spot on the SS class. Thanks for the understanding!! June 11th 2009 Congratulations and Welcome home to Shane P for Double Stack / Overall winner! Kang L Winner of Single Stack Connie B Winner of Ladies Not enough Senior to declare a winner I missed the match due to being out of town, however I hear stage one threw a brand new challenge of shooting: charging and having to shoot shotguns strong hand UNSUPPORTED!! I told you guys that Dave is just sick! Not much else to say but a comment to Bob M from Dave...."too bad a crippled old Man could be you" -I think competition is alive and well! See you at the next match! Ken
May 9th 2009 The 3 Gun match turned out to be a fantastic day! We had the pending rain that flirted with us but stayed at bay allowing the shooters to keep dry. Stage 1 challenged all 3 guns for the shooters with a 65 yard pistol speed plate, rifle running man, and shooter initiated clay thrower for shotgun all in a challenging scenario. Stage 2 was another good mix for all 3 guns, but the challenge was focused more on the pistol. Stage 3 was all hard core pistol drill. Stage 4 included all 3 guns but pushed rifle shooters with the dreaded bowling pins and a very challenging scenario. We had some new shooters show up for their first BWSA 3 Gun Match and they did very well. We hope to see the veterans as well as the newbies back in June! We had one of the best turnouts on Thursday night for the match set up as well...thanks to EVERYONE that helped set up and for all of the shooters that help clean up their last stage at the end of the match. Without support we couldn't do the elaborate scenarios that the warped mind of Dave dreams up! We have a new overall winner - at least in my memory.... Congratulations to Tom B for winning overall and Double Stack!!! Single Stack winner: Rod D Ladies and Senior - not enough in class.
April 5th 2009 Our first outdoor match of 2009 was a great success! Thank you for all of the shooters that came out in the mud and hopefully enjoyed the match. We had 29 shooters as well as a few RO's that came along to help run the match that didn't shoot.....Including Dave. Dave is recovering from his broken leg and was able to get the energy up to help facilitate the match and made it run very smooth. A special thanks to Tom and Bernie for doing much of the work to set up the match and for Everyone who helped take down the targets and help clean up. Congratulations to Ken S for First Place overall and Double Stack Winner Kang for Single Stack Winner Anna for Ladies Winner Team Match Winners are Matt / Ken S Ken
January 20th 2009 Dave B has more or less broken his leg in a snowmobile accident. He will not know the extent of his injuries until he undergoes an MRI in a few weeks. In the meantime he is unable to drive, let alone walk and help with the match. We have a couple other RO's that are going to be out of town as well, leaving just two of us able to run the match. We will reschedule the match during the winter, hopefully by the end of February as we see how Dave's recovery goes. Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions please email Dave or Me. Ken
January 4th 2009 Welcome to the 2009 shooting season. We are hard at work planning some exciting shooting scenarios for the coming year. Be prepared for some challenging stages that will test both your shooting skill and mental and physical stamina. We have been putting on these shoots for many years now and this year will be the year that separates the men from the boys. We will also be doing our year end give-a-way which is still to be determined. Your support, whether you are a shooter, R0, or help in setting up and tearing down is what makes these shoots successful. I thank you in advance. Look forward to shooting with you this year Dave B
