WEB SITE UPDATE: JUNE 23RD 2008 Thank you all for your patience and understanding while we worked through our web site issues. I have a back log of matches to now get updated as well as post some information on the web site. Over the next week or so I will try and get the last two matches up to date on the site. Also we have the Ultimate Sniper III Match coming up August 2nd. More information coming on that in the next few days as well. Again thanks for holding out with our technical troubles. I will be going in checking my access to the site to make sure that this isn't just a one time fix that I will still have access to our ftp address. 3 Gun Combat Match April 19th 2008 Congratulations to: Ken S for DS and overall Winner!! Kang for SS Winner! Carmen for Ladies Winner Jay for Senior Winner The web site is experiencing issues. I have not been able to update the site for a significant amount of time. We get this space to host our site on my personal ISP provider so that it is free. They are having some hardware issues to where I cannot access our site. I am updating the files and sending them to the provider and asking them to upload the files. I am being told that they are going to update some hardware in the month of May and that may take care of our issue. If not we will be moving the site to another server. Please understand the slow updates and lack of pictures and more up to date information. One way or the other we will resolve the problems. Please feel free to email Dave and myself for any up to date information. We are starting to collect email addresses so that we may send out emails of updates and scores as well. Thanks for the understanding! Ken 2 Gun Carbine Match March 29th 2008 Congratulations to Christine for winning the Ladies division!!! On top of that she is a Junior shooter! Well done. Dave M took the Senior class and Brian T ran away with the match! The match day was perfect weather for an early spring shoot. However the same couldn't be said for the day Brian, Dave and I set up. I wanted to set about a dozen targets in one bay and call it a day. We set the match up Thursday night during the wet snow storm. It was set up in the extreme! Dave and Brian lured me out of my "exposure hampered" brain, not liking my idea of running everyone through a half dozen targets without moving and calling it 5 separate stages! Well it was a good idea at the time...... I do have say an apology to my squad as they used my Rock River Carbine for the match. Well unfortunately for them it was full of mechanical problems. The factory mag wouldn't stay engaged and my plastic ProMags were expanding and double feeding. It is in need of some tuning and upgrade to all steel mags before next year! It reflected in some of their scores.
Polar Match January 26th 2008 We are off to a great start! We had our first match of the year! The annual Polar Match. The weather was PERFECT for a Polar Match. It was in the low 20's and snow covered the ground. However it didn't stop the brave souls that joined us for another Polar Match, we even had more shooters then last year! and would have had two more if illness wouldn't have taken Bob M out and I decided to brave the weather to RO, but I didn't pull the trigger. The economy is likely holding back some shooters (yeah it did me) so we weren't to our peak of 2005 but a great showing just the same. Ken S took another match with great consistency. Both he and Shane had very few misses for the match. An excellent accomplishment under the weather conditions. I know from my group and talking to a few others, some trigger fingers were numb with cold before the end of some of the stages! The Chief - Dave Bryan would have slid into 2nd had he been able to hold his misses down on Stage 5! .....kind of serves him right I think. He was more then pleased with the temps and snow covered ground to challenge the shooters! A job well done though. He made Shane earn 2nd place. Kang had a deciding win over the Single Stack class. Congratulations belong to: Ken S with a score of 728.00 to win the Double Stack Class and Overall Winner Kang with a score of 977.80 to win the Single Stack Class Connie with a score of 1249.56 to win the Ladies Class Dave M with a score of 1313.74 to win the Seniors Class
We updated the look to the web site to give it a fresh look. We are working on a new logo for our group updating the "3 Gun Logo" to actually show 3 guns and not 4! Many a person has asked me when I'm wearing our 3 Gun Combat shirts "why are there 4 guns if it is 3 gun combat?" It's tough to explain we had different pistol classes...... When I finish the logo we will be pursuing a new set of tee's and hats for 2008 so save a couple of bucks for some new ones! Shooting is a great sport. Something many of us try to promote and get friends involved in. Remember that our 3 Gun Matches require a certain skill level, not intended for the first time shooter. We want new people to come and join in, but we must always regard safety as the #1 priority. Our club provides plenty of opportunity for the new shooter to develop their shooting ability. Also during the outdoor season on Thursday evenings we practice 3 Gun Shooting. This would be an ideal time for that newbe to get themselves started. Have them come to a match, find out what is involved and go from there. One last note: We've had some questions on our rules or guidelines we use. I guess the easiest way to explain it is: "Remember what I say is, is not always is, unless I say it is." Dave
